PLANNING GUIDE · UPDATED 2 AUGUST 2026

How Far in Advance Should You Book a London Photographer?

Book as soon as your date, venue and essential scope are stable. There is no universal deadline: a Saturday wedding in peak season and a flexible weekday portrait session have very different availability.

Weddings and major events

For a fixed wedding or large celebration, early enquiry gives you more choice and more time to compare full portfolios, contracts and team options. Dates with high demand or several venues benefit most from early planning.

Do not book solely because someone creates urgency. Review the work, scope and terms first. A date is normally secured only when the agreed booking process is completed.

Graduations and seasonal work

Graduation demand concentrates around ceremony dates, while family availability can narrow the practical window further. Enquire once the university schedule is confirmed.

If your day is already close, still ask. Short-notice availability can appear, especially when timing or location is flexible.

Portraits, corporate and live streaming

Portrait sessions can often be arranged more flexibly, but locations, permits and styling may add lead time. Corporate productions need time for stakeholders, scripts and approvals.

Live streaming should not be left to the last minute when venue permission, internet testing or audio integration is necessary. In every case, send the date, place, duration and deliverables for the fastest useful response.
