How to Prepare for a Graduation Photoshoot in London
Graduation days are busy. The most effective preparation is logistical: know when you have the gown, who is joining, where you will meet and how much time exists between ceremony commitments.
Confirm the day’s fixed points
Write down the ceremony, gown collection and return times, reception plans and family travel. Choose a meeting point that is specific enough to find in a crowd.
Allow more time than the camera time alone. Campuses can be busy, queues form and moving a family group takes longer than moving one graduate.
Prepare the people and clothing
Tell the photographer which family combinations matter. A short ordered list avoids trying to invent groups while people are dispersing.
Bring pins or clips for the gown if permitted, comfortable shoes for walking and anything personal you want included. Check hair, collar and gown positioning before the session starts.
Choose a useful session shape
Campus photographs connect the images to the university. A separate London location can create a more editorial set, but travel should not put the ceremony schedule at risk.
Ask what will be delivered and when. If you want a short film or vertical reel, plan it at the same time so movement and clips are captured deliberately.
